Before I proceed to explain what is the meaning of buat duit online, let me just warn you that this is going to be the first post on LithiumMind that is not related to making money online but rather a rant, some thoughts and an observation. I decided today that I will take a break on blogging about money for a change.

First order of the day, anyone suffered from the recent PR update by Goggod? LithiumMind did. I went from 0 to 3 (a month ago) and then now to 2. I have been really busy with work which cause me not to update this blog as much as I would like to. Could this be one of the reasons why my blog suffered the PR dip?

You might notice that I have reverted to a simple Wordpress template. I am wondering if the previous template could have caused my PR dip. I know that the chances of that happening could be very slim, but I have read that if a template is not designed properly it might affect the SEO of the blog.

What do you guys/gals think about the recent PR update. Did your blog suffer a similar fate? If your blog’s PR increase what did you do differently? These are important questions to ponder upon. However, I still think that PR is slightly over rated.

Now back to the title of this post. Are you wondering what the heck does it mean? Buat duit online simply translates to make money online from Malay to the English language. I am just helping my friend promote her blog which I am co-writing as well. Isn’t that silly? I don’t even have the time to update my blog and now I’m helping my friend. Hopefully she can rank number 1 on Google one day with her niche and then it’s time for her to promote my blog.

5 simple Steps to Link Building Using Press Releases

If you have enough budget, consider using a press release to build links to your site.

Here are some simple steps:

1) Include your niche keyword in the press release

Write out a draft of your press release and make sure that your keyword appears at least in the header of the article. Your keyword should also appear at least 1 to 3 times more in the body of the press release.

2) Chose the right anchor text

Make sure that you choose wisely for the anchor text that is linking back to your website. The phrase or word should be related to your niche. Do not ever use anchor text such as “click here” as anchor text to your page.

3) Consider Paying More For An Upgrade

If the website or company provides an upgrade consider subscribing to it. Since you have already invested some money into this press release it would benefit you more if you fork out addition cash to maximize your press release. These upgrades normally will offer you more opportunities for your press release.

4) Distribute To Different Services

Try to diversify the services used to distribute your press release. Make sure that contents of your press release for each of this services is unique.

5) Include your press release within your own site.

Basically it is a good idea to include the press release within your website once you have submitted to the distribution services. Make sure that in your press release has a link to your main homepage. Once again, choose the correct anchor text linking to your main homepage.

DoFollow Vs NoFollow Links

When adding any links on your blog you have the option of using either a DoFollow link or a NoFollow link. So what are the differences between these 2 types of links?

If you are are looking to increase your pagerank then you will be interested in DoFollow links. Before we go into detail about DoFollow and NoFollow Link, let us examine what is pagerank.

Most of you have probably heard about Google Pagerank. Google algorithm determines the number of quality links pointing back to your website.

DoFollow Vs NoFollow Links

If your website has a good number of backlinks then you will have a high PR. Backlinks are actual links from other websites to yours. In other words, if your website has high quality content, more people will link to your website. Therefore Google consider your website to be relevant and in return, give you a higher pagerank.

Difference between DoFollow and NoFollow Links

In 2005 the attribute nofollow was designed by Google’s head of webspam team Matt Cutts and Jason Shellen from blogger.com

NoFollow is an HTML attribute value used to instruct some search engines that a hyperlink should not influence the link target’s ranking in the search engine’s index. Let’s say you do a link exchange with another website. This person can place your link as either DoFollow Link or a NoFollow link. If they choose to place a DoFollow link then it will help you improve your ranking. However if they use a NoFollow link instead, it will not contribute to your pagerank. Since the whole idea of link exchange it to increase one’s pagerank, therefore a DoFollow link is much desirable.
